Planning a
salmon sports fishing trip to BC?
Larry
Quigley - Quigley Sport Fishing Charters
As far as saltwater fishing goes, the best that any fishing charter service can do is
guide their guests and catch the legal limit. We left the Port
Renfrew dock at 5:30am and made our way out about 20 miles off shore. It almost
seemed that within 2 minutes of Larry dropping the downriggers the reels were screaming!
Our first customer was a very aggressive Spring Salmon weighing in around 20lbs.
We found non-stop action for rest of the morning as we caught our limit of
salmon in under 3 hours.
After an
outstanding morning of salmon fishing we ran for about 20 minutes to the halibut
grounds. Larry was rite on the ball when it came finding the fish. Of course his 28
ft cabin cruiser is set up with all the latest navigational electronics and fish finding
equipment. We dropped our lines in at 250 to 300 ft and were all very impressed with the
action! Along with our limit of halibut, we picked up a few (delicious) pacific
cod, that make terrific fish and chips!
